Our Journey
In March this year, when Covid-19 was gripping the world, we realised our wonderful Island of Jersey was going to be under threat.
We knew we would need to rise to meet these challenges, because this is what our Island has always done. Jersey has a well-established pedigree of adapting in order to not just survive but to flourish. Whether it be the wool trade, cider production, shipbuilding, agriculture, tourism, conferences and events, or financial services and digital innovation, we have always stepped up and protected our economy.
We foresaw that our community was going to be significantly impacted by:
Few local businesses having appropriate business continuity plans;
The Government of Jersey having to, rightly, focus on preserving life and the healthcare system; and
Aggressive changes to the core functions of supply and demand.
Enter Fetch.je
Focused on supporting local businesses, Fetch was designed as a community project to safeguard livelihoods. It has offered and continues to provide, isolating customers a one-stop-shop to order everything they need safely and securely. What's more, it has provided businesses with an instant online presence, so they could continue trading while their physical premises were and, in some cases, still are closed. In short, it has given the non-finance sectors of Jersey's economy a chance not just to survive but to thrive through the immensely challenging times we have faced this year.
The impact of Covid-19 on local communities and the economy has been immediate and profound, with social distancing measures leading to a significant drop in business trade - particularly businesses such as restaurants, grocery stores, cafes, and more that relied on face to face interaction with customers. Fetch is providing local businesses with an online eCommerce platform where they can showcase their products to allow their customers to order various goods and services.
Here to stay
Throughout lockdown, we focussed on onboarding the essential businesses that support the wellbeing and livelihoods of Jersey residents, such as food suppliers, restaurants, farmers, fishermen, and much-needed household goods & pharmacies. Now that Fetch is part of the Jersey Post Group, we are delighted to say the platform is here to stay, and we are ready to focus on so much more.
We are also enabling individual fishermen and farm shops to sell their unique, local produce through our site. It means customers can buy a lobster, lettuce, and a latte in one place.
Fetch is a marriage of two advantages: the feel-good factor of supporting local with the convenience of shopping online; in short, it's a win-win situation. We aim to keep local businesses in business.
Whether you’re looking for local produce, delicious restaurant-quality food without leaving your home or simply wanting to keep on top of your wellbeing, Fetch is an encyclopedia of incredible choice presenting the rich, diverse and incredible breath of talent within our local business community. We offer a safe, secure and easy-to-use website exclusively for the benefit of Islanders.
Thank you for your generous support.
Focused on supporting local businesses, we re-engineered our platform in six days, so that we could present almost any product or service, online. Fetch, from conception, was designed as a community project to safeguard livelihoods. With the support of DWE Digital, Jersey Business, Digital Jersey, Visit Jersey, The Jersey Hospitality Association and Jersey Post, we were encouraged to work tirelessly to support the community via a phased approach:
We understand the impact on businesses in the Island.
Via the Fetch website, Islanders can order from their favourite local shops, restaurants and cafés (that remain trading) and have it delivered straight to their door or ready for collection at their convenience. These movements will change overtime.
Your local products at your fingertips. Thank you for your generous support.

The team at Fetch would like to provide a very special thank in recognition for the works undertaken by Carey Olsen's Emma German, Rebecca Lever and Peter German. "Very early on in the launch of Fetch.je Emma German was engaged to provide support for the community project. Clearly, the team at Carey Olsen saw the value of our efforts to support local businesses in Jersey during the Covid-19 restriction measures with our online marketplace. Providing guidance throughout the first few months they have offered recommendations on corporate matters and documentation - it's been truly remarkable!" Emma German said, "We were delighted to assist the Fetch.je team to support Jersey's economy by connecting local businesses with local customers during such a difficult time. The platform is a triumph of entrepreneurial spirit and Jersey's tech talent. We wish them every success with their endeavour." |

At its heart Fetch operates from a desire to support Jersey’s community by helping your favourite businesses keep running, allowing employers to retain their talent and to serve the community we love.
Your involvement and commitment to this cause supports all local businesses and means everything.
How Fetch Works - Customers

Choose the number of items and select a date and time for either delivery or collection. Shop for items from multiple places adding items to your online shopping basket as you go. *Delivery options will change as per The Government of Jersey directives.
STEP THREE - Confirming Your Order
Once you have everything you need you’ll be taken to your shopping basket where you can check your order before confirming. Please ensure your order is correct before entering your payment details.
STEP FOUR - Payment and Delivery
Choose from the available secure payment methods, taking care to accurately enter your payment details and wait for your order to be confirmed. You’ll receive a confirmation email once your order has been processed.
Then collect your items or wait for them to be delivered to your door.
How Fetch Works - Businesses
STEP ONE - Sign Up
Any local business can sign up to present their goods whether a service or product, here.
STEP TWO - NO STEP TWO
It’s hard enough focusing on all the other elements of your business.
Once the sign up form is complete, Fetch will do the rest!
WHAT’S THE CATCH?
… We’re struggling to think of one, too.
We’re in this together and Fetch is here to support every step of the way.
